CONTACT YOUR MP TO OPPOSE ASSISTED SUICIDE:

The Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill is back in the House of Commons and seeks to legalise assisted dying. It will have its Second Reading and vote on Friday, 11 September 2026. Please write to your MP to make your voice heard and oppose the Bill. The charity Right to Life UK has a simple online mechanism to do this. It takes little more than a few minutes to enter your postcode, make sure the suggested text suits your viewpoint and submit your message to ask your MP to stop this flawed Bill progressing through parliament. LIVESIMPLY

We aim to live more simply, sustainably and in solidarity with others.

  • As many people are on holiday or enjoying days out, we give thanks for these special times together and the gift of creation:

Thank you for the simple pleasures of time spent together.

Thank you for time to enjoy the beauty of creation all around us.

Thank you for fun times lifting everyone’s spirits.

Thank you for the strength to juggle work and childcare.

Thank you for not expecting perfection.

Thank you for time to relax to recharge.

CALLING ALL GARDENERS!:

To mark the Season of Creation in September, there will be a free plant and seed giveaway in both St Mary’s and St John Vianney parishes.

More details will be given closer to the time.

It would be brilliant if you could start collecting seeds (store them in a paper bag in the fridge) or rooting cuttings now, in time for September. Have a think about any indoor or outdoor plants that might need a new home. If you have plants like poppies, foxgloves or marigolds and would like to know how to collect seeds, please speak to Lydia. It might be fun as a project for the school holidays. Thank you!

LITERACY CHARITY SEEKS LOCAL VOLUNTEERS:

Coram Beanstalk is a national literacy charity which has been supporting children to become readers since 1973. We believe every child deserves the joy of reading, and we're here to help them discover it. We need to fill vacancies in settings locally, especially in the L25/Woolton postcode area of Liverpool.

Each volunteer will receive training and will support on average three children for 20-30 minutes, at least once a week. It really is such a fulfilling and meaningful volunteering role which transforms lives, so please get in touch today if you think you can help. If you would be interested in becoming a reading helper in a local school, please visit our website for more information www.corambeanstalk.org.uk or call us on 020 7729 4087
