SAFEGUARDING SUNDAY

On Sunday 15 November 2026, churches across the UK  mark Safeguarding Sunday. This initiative, spearheaded by Christian safeguarding charity Thirtyone:eight, invites communities to come together to reflect on their safeguarding journey, and highlight all the good work that is being done in our archdiocese and beyond to create safer places.

The theme this year is “Love Protects”. In its simplest terms, safeguarding is the protection of those in our care. In 1 Corinthians 13, we’re told that “love protects”. It is a key part of our faith and should be ingrained into every aspect of Christian life.
