SEASON OF CREATION 2021

As we reach the end of this year’s Season of Creation on the 4th October, the Feast of St Francis of Assisi, we remember the challenges raised by Pope Francis in his letter Laudato Si: “Living our vocation to be protectors of God’s handiwork is essential to a life of virtue; it is not an optional or a secondary aspect of our Christian experience.” Laudato Si 217

Consider signing the Laudato Si Pledge: https://livelaudatosi.org/

As the Season comes towards its close, we would like to share some possible actions with you in addition to the petitions we’ve been encouraging you to sign. If you are able to do so, you could calculate your own carbon footprint: https://footprint.wwf.org.uk/#/

NEWS FROM THE GLOBAL CATHOLIC CLIMATE MOVEMENT

Pope Francis has only one goal for us this year: create a culture of care.

Such a culture would overcome “indifference, waste and confrontation,” and help all of us deepen our ecological conversion.

Below you’ll find two ways to get started on that goal this month by coming together with Catholics around the globe and helping create a world full of “fraternity and solidarity, of mutual support and acceptance.”

TOOLS WITH A MISSION

If you've been decluttering, why not donate your unwanted tools to Tools with a Mission?

They refurbish them and send them across the world, particularly focussing on creating livelihoods in sub-Saharan Africa.  As well as tools, they take material, buttons, wool, needles (sewing & knitting) and bibles.

Take a look at the website for a list of what they accept.
