‘The world is charged with the grandeur of God’

                    Gerard Manley Hopkins

Thanks  to everyone who came to Hope Park on Sunday to celebrate our local community with volunteer musicians and singers;  crafters, gardeners, cooks and tea makers. A good time was had by all.

The Living Simply stall was a hit with young and old as they wrestled with the Water Challenge and claimed their flower seeds in reward.

There was indeed hope in the air in the beautiful gardens, as we listened to the ‘sweet songs’ of  Bob Marley’s ‘ Three Little Birds’ with its good news ‘everything gonna be alright’.

And hope too when the choir sang the Beatles’ refrain  ‘ and when the broken hearted people living in the world agree, there will be an answer-  let it be, let it be.’

And in the words of the Jesuit poet priest

‘For all this Nature is never spent

There lives the dearest freshness deep down things

And though the last lights off the black west went

Oh, morning at the brown brink eastwards springs

Because the Holy Ghost over the bent

World broods with warm breast and with ah! bright wings'
