synod 2020 logoSYNOD PRAYER

Father, we thank you for the love you have shown us in the gift of Jesus, your Son. We thank you for the gift of the Church, through which you show us that you are always with us and are always at work in our lives.

As we journey together to Synod 2020 help us to become the Church that you are calling us to be. May your Holy Spirit be powerfully at work among us. Strengthen each of us and guide Francis, our Pope and Malcolm, our Archbishop.

Help us to respond to the challenges of our times in new ways to bring your love to all our sisters and brothers. We make this prayer through Jesus Christ Our Lord.

Care for our Common Home – Laudato Si

Pope Francis invites us to celebrate the fifth anniversary of Laudato Si' from May 24, 2020 to May 24, 2021 - a whole year! There are many ways you can participate including: from home on your own, with your family, or virtually with your group, parish or community. Join us!

This year, we as people of faith can elevate creation care and learn, act, and pray. Climate change is an existential threat to God’s creation and the world has never been so ready for all communities to step up and take climate action.

We’re also in a moment of crisis in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. As new economies and new ways of caring for the most vulnerable arise, we have a critical opportunity to come together to ensure the new way of life is better than what came before. Laudato Si’ teaches us how to create a more just and sustainable world together.

We would like to offer you the opportunity to read this document as a Book Group, to allow us to come together to discuss and plan for how we can best use the ideas gathered here in our own Community.
