MESSAGE TO KEY WORKERS
CARDINAL NICHOLS ON EASTER DUTIES,
CONFESSION AND THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS
What if everyone on Sunday April 5 in the morning, puts a branch on the door of their house or on the window, to celebrate Palm Sunday?
It could be any green branch you can get. This would help, despite the social distancing, to be connected as we enter into the Holiest of Weeks.
Want to join?
We may be physically isolated, but not separated. We are united as the body of Christ.
We are the Church.
On 22nd March tens of thousands of Christians across Britain united to pray as part of the National Day of Prayer and Action on Sunday 22nd March 2020, responding to the call made by Presidents of Churches Together in England (CTE).
CTE are encouraging us to join together again at 7pm this evening (29th March). CTE (Churches Together England) have produced as a safer alternative, where candle flames, window sills and curtains do not mix. (Click on the image of the candle and you will access a pdf you can print off)

FRIENDS OF THE HOLY LAND Appeal
The coronavirus outbreak in Bethlehem is having a devastating effect, causing people to lose their incomes due to lack of tourism. We are launching an appeal to provide one-off support to the most needy Christian families affected.
Brendan Metcalffe the Executive Director of Friends of the Holy Land in a recent email said
As the coronavirus crisis tightens its grip on the UK, I reach out to you, your family and your friends. I am keenly aware that there are challenging times ahead for us all, however, in the UK we are most fortunate to have the support of a world-leading health service and the resources of a developed economy to cushion the economic impact. As you are aware from the message of our Bethlehem Appeal, the picture in Bethlehem over the last 3 weeks has been very different and as the crisis spreads through the West Bank, Gaza, Israel and Jordan we expect the lives of our Christian brothers and sisters to be devastated and hence our appeal for additional support will need to be widened.
To donate or to find out more go to https://www.friendsoftheholyland.org.uk/news/news/coronavirus-outbreak-bethlehem---an-appeal
To sign up for updates visit https://www.friendsoftheholyland.org.uk/get-involved
If you can not donate we are asked to remain united and supportive in prayer for our brothers and sisters in the Holy Land
